Behold the Nigerian Super Heroes!!!

Recently I stumbled upon these pages on Facebook (during my boredom) Comic Republic and Republic Nation, after a lot of clicks and snacks later i found out that they are a comic design company in Nigeria based in Lagos that designs online and .pdf format comics for off line reading. The interesting thing about them is that their comics are African based (i.e Nigeria based since we are the giants abi).

The Characters in the comics speak pidgin and use common Nigerian slangs. Did I also mention they bear Nigerian names. The cast of characters; “Africa’s Avengers” according to some fans – ranges from Guardian Prime, a 25-year old Nigerian fashion designer by day who uses his extraordinary strength to fight for a better Nigeria, to Hilda Avonome Moses, a woman from a remote village in Edo state who can see spirits, and Marcus Chigozie, a privileged but angry teenager who can move at supersonic speeds.

A full break down of the Africa’s Avengers below.

AJE: THE WITCH

Aje

The stories from this company are still developing so do not expect to find a lot of stories all at once [they are not Marvel….yet] but do relish in the ones already available and lets hear your comments.

It is commendable that Nigerians and Africans are actually creating indigenous comics and promoting the spirit of Patriotism amongst Nigerian youths, especially in this era where there is a lot of negativity and pessimism on social media. I encourage everyone to download or read online any of these free comics at Comic Republic and tell us what the experience was like…
